The CBA Alphabet of Success!

Are You Missing the First Crucial Step
to Breakthrough Results?

Before you can achieve the results you desire, you have to be able to envision what you want to accomplish and believe that you can.

This is also called shifting your paradigm. What is a paradigm? Dictionary.com does a good job of defining what a paradigm is:

“A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an intellectual discipline.”

Another way of saying that is a paradigm is your set of beliefs at a particular time. Some of these beliefs are your personal beliefs about what is true, and there are also societal, cultural and family beliefs.

The thing is, we change our paradigms and beliefs all the time! Five years ago the news was all about how we were going to run out of oil in the next ten years and yet now there is no mention of running out of oil.

Which is true? Well based on the paradigm (and technology) of the time, it was true that we were going to run out of oil based on the consumption rate and available oil reserves.

However what followed was an advance in technology in drilling and accessing oil reserves and better efficiency in usage. The ‘experts’ are back to saying we have an unlimited supply.

One of the teachers featured in movie “The Secret”, John Assaraf wrote a book (with Murray Smith) called The Answer. In the book John talks about neuroplasticity – that our brains continue to change even as adults based on what we think about, how we use it.

That was a paradigm shift! It was considered common knowledge that after teenage years your brain was set – and it was all downhill from there!

Given the advancement in understanding the amazing power of the human brain “Your potential to achieve what you want is essentially without limit.”

John also defined a belief as “a thought that you think over and over again”.

Beliefs are a powerful tool for our brain to use. They define our world – guide our actions, communication and thoughts.

So what is the CBA of Success?

Simply – if you can SEE it, and BELIEVE it, you can ACHIEVE it.

There are great stories of people who against all odds built a successful business, walked again after a horrible accident, won the fight against disease.

I’m going to say that before they could achieve their success they first had to have a clear vision of what they wanted to accomplish, and then shape their beliefs to the fulfillment of their vision.

Along the way guaranteed they would have had to overcome or shift limiting beliefs.

I define a limiting belief as a belief that does not support your vision, goals, purpose or values.

At one time the limiting belief may have even supported you, but for one reason or another you have outgrown it and now the same belief is holding you back.

An example of a limiting belief? Any time you think “I can’t do this”, or:

  • I don’t deserve to make more money
  • I can’t manage people
  • I don’t know how to hire the right people
  • I just have a small business, I can’t have the same impact as a big company
  • Everyone in my family is heavy – I’m just big boned
  • I don’t have time to exercise
  • I will never get out of debt
  • This is as good as it’s going to get

So how do you tackle your limiting beliefs and stretch towards your dreams and goals? How do you use the simple CBA – See it, Believe it and Achieve it?

The Roadmap to Breakthrough Results using See it, Believe it and Achieve it:

1. Set a clear Vision.
• Choose a time frame – three years, five years, ten years or more
• Ask yourself – what does life look like if at that time period I am happy with the outcome. Develop the picture of how your life, business, health, relationships, finances look at that point in the future and capture it as your Vision.

2. Create a Vision Board.
• Create a visual picture of the future you would like to accomplish.
• Write about what your vision looks like, what are you doing, what do you have, who else is there.
• Keep your Vision Board in a place that you see it often
• Review and continually refine your Vision Board – keep it top of mind!

3. Use your Vision to set specific, measurable goals.
• You can set goals for different time periods but definitely set One Year Goals and then capture what your strategy is to achieve your One Year Goals (actions required, projects, people etc).

4. Track your progress towards your goals, celebrate your success and use what happens along the path to your goals and vision as your entrepreneurial education teaching you exactly what you need to know in order to reach your goals
• Click here for a short video on using what happens on your way to reaching your vision and goals as the raw material for reaching them (http://www.profitgeneratormembers.com/2010/08/06/how-to-end-the-struggle/)
By focusing on your vision of where you want to be, what you want to accomplish, it takes you out of your paradigm of today to develop your empowered paradigm of tomorrow.
